Position Description: 
  • Being a writer for the Top o' the World is an incredible opportunity that will allow you to grow as a writer and strengthen your professional skills, while also playing a unique part on Western’s campus. As journalists, we play a crucial role in delivering the news – from hard hitting to human interest – to the community of Western. Top writers are responsible for researching and writing their assigned or pitched articles. This means setting up and conducting interviews with appropriate subjects, completing the story in the correct format needed, and turning stories in on time
Position Qualifications: 
  • No previous experience in journalism is needed, however, students must be proficient writers and able to adapt to different forms of writing. Writers are required to work independently and follow strict deadlines.
