Student Photographer

Position Description: 

Student photographers assist the Marketing Communications department as they support university communicators telling Western’s story. Photographers will report to the Social and Digital Media Coordinator/University Photographer to assist with visual content creation to be used on Western’s website, social media platforms and marketing print materials. Tasks include taking photographs of school wide functions, events, and student life and then cataloging and curating photos for the University’s marketing use.

As a photographer you will have the opportunity to attend a variety of Western events, gain professional experience in the field and have your work featured on a Western’s marketing materials from print and web.

Position Qualifications: 
  • Photography experience shooting on a DSLR camera. Not necessary to have your own camera, but ideal.
  • Have strong production skills and experience with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Must be eager to be involved on campus, including communicating with various academic departments and/or student organizations.
  • Must be able to manage time efficiently to work on strict deadlines and work independently under minimal supervision.
