Our on-campus housing options help students learn and develop well-being, belonging, practical life skills, justice and curiosity.

Housing for First-Year Students

Escalante Complex

Escalante Complex

The Escalante Complex is located at the top of campus and is comprised of Dolores, Colorado, Tomichi and Crystal Halls. This coed space offers community-style living for approximately 320 students. The facilities include laundry, floor lounges, Esports, ICELab and Coffee Lab in terrace along with the highest views on campus.

Ute Hall Western

Ute Hall

In 1931, Ute Hall became only the second building and the first residence hall built on Western’s campus. This traditional style residence hall is a coed space for 132 students. Honors Program students have the option to live in Ute Hall. The facilities include a computer lab, laundry, FreeCycle (campus thrift shop) and two large lounges.

Housing for Returning and Transfer Students

Mears Complex

Mears Complex

Mears Complex is comprised of Mears Hall, Moffat Hall and Robidoux Hall. This coed space houses approximately 400 students. This suite-style residence hall is available for sophomores, juniors and seniors, returning undergraduates and transfer students. The Mears Complex is home to Western’s gender inclusive community. In addition to living spaces, the Mears Complex includes laundry facilities, a lounge, and a computer lab.

Chipeta Apartments

Chipeta Apartments

The Chipeta Apartments are designed for upperclass returning undergraduates and graduate students. Located on the southwest corner of campus, Chipeta is home to 120 students and Western’s campus garden. Facilities include a computer lab, floor lounges, and laundry.

Chipeta Apartments house returning undergraduates and graduate students. Each apartment includes a kitchen with apartment-size refrigerator and oven, private bathroom and a living room furnished with a couch, side table, dining table and chairs.

Pinnacles Apartments

Pinnacles Apartments

Pinnacles Apartments are designed for older students and returning undergraduates. Located on the western edge of campus, the Pinnacles is home to 220 students and features a greenhouse and a fire pit. In addition to living quarters, the facilities include laundry, a computer lab, study rooms, common area lounges and community kitchen.

The Pinnacles Apartments are home to students in second-year and above on campus. Built in 2012, these LEED apartments have places to hang out, study, watch tv and play pool.
