Curriculum Vita

Teaching and Research Interests:

Petroleum Geology, Structural Geology and Tectonics, and Field Geology

Western State College of Colorado combines an outstanding mountain environment for field instruction with a state-of-the-art computing and science facility in the newly renovated Hurst Hall. My teaching, research, and industry work have the common trait of combining traditional field methods with leading-edge technology. Allen Stork, Rob Fillmore, Dave Marchetti, and I are committed to mentoring fundamentally grounded, literate, and technologically proficient undergraduates toward successful graduate and professional careers.

Software Donations

Western State College is the beneficiary of a series of generous donations by industry software developers. Platte River Associates BasinMod1D, geoPLUS Petra, Seismic Micro Technology Kingdom Suite, GeoLogic Systems LithoTect, Northwest Geophysical Associates GMSys, and GeoTools QuickDip are currently integrated into the Petroleum Geology, Applied Geophysics, and Subsurface Geology courses. In the coming months, we hope to add Midland Valley Exploration 2D & 3D Move. We are most grateful for the support of these companies toward educating the next generation of geoscientists.
