Become a University of Colorado Boulder Engineer—at Western

Discover the best of both worlds at Western Colorado University. Graduate with a degree from prestigious University of Colorado Boulder—ranked in the top 20 nationally among public universities—all while enjoying small class sizes, know-your-name attention from faculty and the mountain-town grandeur of Gunnison.

Through a new Western-University of Colorado Boulder partnership program starting in 2019, you can graduate with a B.S. degree from the University of Colorado Boulder’s renowned College of Engineering & Applied Science. During the first two years of the partnership program, you take Western courses with Western faculty. For the final two years, you take University of Colorado Boulder classes with University of Colorado Boulder faculty—remaining at Western the entire four years to complete a B.S. in either Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder.

The partnership program will be housed in the new, state-of-the-art Paul M. Rady School of Computer Science & Engineering at the heart of Western’s campus. The new school and partnership program were created with an astounding $80 million gift from an alumnus who as CEO of Antero Resources in Denver has recognized an ever-growing demand for seriously trained, well-rounded computer science and engineering professionals.

You will graduate as a CU Boulder engineer from one of our great programs,” said Bobby Braun, dean of the College of Engineering & Applied Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, “and be on your way to engineering solutions to drive the economy, security and quality of life of our state, nation and world.”
