Mental health resources can provide help to Western students

Western Colorado University is committed to fostering a supportive environment where students can seek help for any mental health issue, including depression.

The Counseling Center, located in on campus in Crystal Hall room 104, provides on-site counseling services during the academic year. The Center for Mental Health, located at 710 N. Taylor St. in Gunnison, provides counseling services year-round.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call the Center for Mental Health at 970.252.6220, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Sources of Strength is a national project that empowers peer leaders and caring adults to work together to prevent suicide, bullying and substance abuse. Western's Sources of Strength chapter meets every other Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m. in the University Boardroom. The next meeting will be Nov. 7.
