Emeritus Professor of Music to perform solo piano recital Oct. 10

The Western State Colorado University Department of Music is to present Martha Watson Violett, Emeritus Professor of Music, in a solo piano recital on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Quigley Hall's John and Georgie Kincaid Concert Hall on the Western campus. The concert is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.

Violette continues to teach piano and class piano at Western and remains active as a soloist and chamber musician with Western faculty and guest artists. The evening's program includes works by French and Spanish composers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries: Enrique Granados, Valses poéticos; Francis Poulenc, Les Soirées de Nazelles; Claude Debussy, Three Préludes from Book II; and Isaac Albéniz, two pieces from Ibéria.
