Road Cycling

Members of the Road Cycling Team enjoy organized travel, competition, and miles and miles of the great wide-open within the Mountain Sports program at Western Colorado University.

The endless miles of county roads and mountain passes surrounding Gunnison and nearby Crested Butte provide the perfect training ground for road cycling.

Western’s Road Cycling Team competes in the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference and travels to events up and down Colorado’s Front Range: Fort Collins, Boulder, Golden and Colorado Springs.

If you’re a student who enjoys tests of endurance, travel, mountain landscapes, camaraderie and, of course, cycling, Western’s Road Cycling Team is for you.

Western’s Mountain Sports program welcomes all abilities and recognizes that hard work and dedication, both in the classroom and out on the roads, will allow you to grow and to achieve as a person, as a student and as an athlete. As part of Western Mountain Sports, you will meet lifelong friends and have experiences that you’ll never forget.
