The History of the Crested Butte Area

​Join Dr. Duane Vandenbusche for a 12 session course about the history of the Crested Butte area.  The class covers geography, water, silver and gold mining, ethnic peoples, coal mining, early day skiing, stellite mining camps, polka music (and polka dancing with Pete Dunda), sustainability, and narrow gauge railroads.  Slides shows on early day skiing, Crested Butte history, and narrow gauge railroads.
