37666, NON CREDIT, $80
Location: Crested Butte Community School, Room D201.
With over 20 years of experience guiding and fishing the Gunnison Valley rivers, Thomas Rutherford teaches students basic fly tying patterns for fishing our Gold Medal waters. Learn six different patterns comprised of nymphs, dry flies, and streamers. After mastering these basic patterns, students have the basic knowledge of tools and materials needed to tie more advanced flies. This is a hands on-class, and basic tools are needed to participate. Although fly tying materials are provided, students are asked to bring: a vise, fly tying scissors, bobbin and threader, hackle pliers, whip finisher tool, hair stacker, dubbing wax, and head cement.
