Funding and Letters of Support

The City of Gunnison is committed to investing and fostering a partnership with Western Colorado University faculty and its students. There are many ways that our two organizations can work together in a streamlined and efficient manner. Here are a few ways for Western faculty and students to work with the City to move projects and programming forward.

Public Service Grant

The City of Gunnison’s Public Service Grant Program is designed to support programs or services which meet the needs and desires of the residents and businesses within the City limits. The general intent of this program is to fund programs and services not offered through the auspices of current City operations or activities. - Deadline Oct. 31

Economic Development Grants

The City of Gunnison Economic Development Grant program funding new and creative efforts in Gunnison to increase sales tax revenue. Eligible projects include events, local marketing and business development, provided there is a solid rationale equating to increased sales tax revenues for the City of Gunnison. -  Deadline Oct. 31

Youth Challenge Grants

The Youth Challenge Grant Program is an innovative way for the City of Gunnison to fund new and creative endeavors for our younger citizens in Gunnison. The Program is intended to promote positive youth activities, educational programs or leadership opportunities for Gunnison youth. All funded proposals are required to be tobacco, alcohol and drug free.
