Career Cafe is held on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 3:30-5 p.m. in Mad Jack's Cafe (University Center 1st Floor). This event is an opportunity for any student to drop in for a quick conversation with Career Services staff to get feedback on your resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile and other topics. No appointments are taken during this time, drop-in only. If your needs require more than a few minutes, you are invited to schedule an appointment through Handshake.
Throughout the year, Career Services sponsors workshops teaching basic career skills. These workshops may be invited by faculty and presented in class or held as standalone campus events. Topics include:
- Resume and cover letter writing
- Developing your LinkedIn profile
- Social media and personal branding
- Interviewing skills
- Searching for jobs and internships
- Personal finance for students
Taking place each spring semester, the Etiquette Dinner is an opportunity for Juniors and Seniors to practice networking skills over a multi-course meal while learning about the etiquette expected during professional meetings and interviews that happen over a meal. This event is free to attend, but space is limited and advanced RSVP is required.
