Aaron Clay, an attorney specializing in water matters for 28 years in the Gunnison Basin, will teach a one-day seminar titled Colorado Water Law in a Nutshell, just prior to Western State College’s 33rd Colorado Water Workshop. This eight-hour seminar will begin Tuesday, May 13, 1:00-5:00, and continue Wednesday morning, May 14, 8:00-12:00. The Seminar will be in the Cottonwood room of the College Union.
This seminar will cover all aspects of the law related to water rights and ditch rights as applied in Colorado, including how to create and perfect a water right, how to transfer, protect, and mortgage such a right, and the rights and obligations of ditch owners and users. This course will be helpful to water users, ditch company officers, realtors, appraisers, real estate closers, and the general public.

In addition to his private practice in Delta, representing many different water users, Mr. Clay is the water referee for Water Division Four, Colorado Judicial Department.
