Intramural Sports

The intramural program offers a variety of opportunities for each individual to participate in there favorite extracurricular activity.  Each year students, faculty, and staff join competitive and/or recreational activities that are offered by the intramural program.  There are men’s, women’s, and coed activities offered so that anybody can join a team or activity.  Intramurals is also a great way to meet new people, stay active, and have fun.  Teams can be formed through friends, residence halls, or off-campus groups.

It is easy to join the intramural program. Just grab your friends or people from your dorm and form a team. Just watch around campus for the advertising of the sports and when it will start. We give each member of the Championship Team a free T-shirt.

On Campus Dorm Challenge

Information students need to know:

The divisions for On Campus are:

  • Mears complex

 

  • Shavano Apartment complex
  • Chipeta Hall

 

  • Escalante Complex
  • Ute Hall

 

General Statements:

  • All intramural activities are included in the OCDC

 

  • When signing up for an activity the student or team must specify what hall they are from to be counted in the OCDC
  • If a dorm is not entered into the intramural activity they cannot win any points

 

  • If there is a team entered into an activity from a dorm the participants of the team must all live in that dorm otherwise they will be unable to participate in the OCDC, although they will still be able to participate in the intramural activity
  • All dorm teams play the regular intramural schedule

 

a) So some dorm teams may not play all the other dorm teams although we will try to make that happen

  • Points are awarded based on what place they get in the intramural activity

 

    • So points are awarded on what place you come into compared to the other dorm teams. 
    • EX.  If Chipeta comes in 4th in the softball tournament but is above all other dorms they are still the winners of that dorm challenge
  • At the end of the year the hall with the most points gets a trophy and another prize

 

Point System- 1st  -20 points,  2nd – 15 points, 3rd -10 points 

 

 

Become an Official

We are always in need of officials. You get paid for every game you officiate. We pay our officials Institutionally so you do not have to have Work Study. All you do is come sign up at the meeting and show up when assigned to work.
