I initially decided to attend Western State Colorado University to play volleyball. That was the catalyst of me looking into coming here. Once I got here I really liked the small-town feel of Gunnison and the communal nature of WSCU. I am originally from Windsor, Colorado.

When I’m not in class I play for WSCU’s volleyball team and I am also on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, which is a group of student athletes who get together and try and raise support for WSCU’s various sports teams. We try to be the face of athletics on campus. I also do a lot of community service with the volleyball team including volunteering at nursing homes and elementary schools. This summer I lived in Gunnison and loved being able to do some hiking.

After I graduate from WSCU I either want to go to graduate school for physical therapy or get a Master’s degree in business.

My favorite thing about WSCU is the relationships that you get to build with people. Because it is a small school you can just walk around and feel like you belong in the community. A lot of my other friends at other universities just feel like a number because they are too big of schools to build the sense of community that we have here at WSCU.
