Western State's men's baseball team lost three consecutive games against Fort Lewis College last weekend, October 18. The team traveled to Fort Lewis for the three-game series, but were met by a strong offensive force that overpowered the defense all three games. The scores were: 10-2; 11-4; and 10-8. Offensively, Western was plagued by several missing players who had either prior obligations or were physically unable to play due to illness or injury. Overall, these absent players drastically affected Western's performance on the field, but defensively the Mountaineers showed signs of improvement from past games committing few errors. However, despite their losses, some team members remain hopeful and look forward to the spring season. According to player Austin Harper, "The game was alright because our younger guys got some more playing time even though we did not play as well as we could have." Document Actions |
