Withdrawal from WSCU
Students who wish to withdraw from the University may do so any time during the semester. Contact the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs to initiate an official withdrawal from the University. Students should also consult with course instructors and their academic advisor.
After the official Add/Drop period for courses, but before the withdrawal deadline (January 30, 2013 for Spring 2013 term), a student wishing to withdraw entirely from the University will be given a grade of "W" for all courses except variable-credit courses. Once two-thirds of the scheduled class time in any given course has been completed, a student wishing to withdraw from the University will be given a "W" or a "WF" grade for each course, unless the course instructor deems that an "Incomplete" would be a more appropriate grade.
If a student has plans to return to WSCU within one year, they may be eligible for an Academic Leave of Absence. This process is handled through the Registration Services Office. Being registered for an Academic Leave of Absence will allow the student to remain in Western's system and the student will not need to reapply if they decide to return within one year. It will also permit the student to use their WSCU email and continue to be notified about when certain deadlines are approaching (such as class registration).
