Work Study

About Federal Work Study
Work study is a student employment program that allows eligible students to work on campus in a variety of settings with flexible hours.
In order to determine eligibility for work study, students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
Federal, state, and institutional funds are invested in employment programs that allow students to work as many as 20 hours per week. Wages vary according to the job, however most jobs start at the minimum-wage rate. Working hours are arranged around classes.
It may be possible for a student to work on campus even if he or she is not eligible for other financial aid.
- If a student is awarded work study on an "award letter" this does not guarantee the student will have a job or that he or she will actually earn the amount listed.
- The amount listed on an "award letter" is a maximum for which the student is eligible. The amount earned will depend on hours worked. The pay day is the 25th of every month.
- Students are required to set-up an interview to be hired for jobs on campus as they would for any work opportunity.
Available jobs are typically listed at the LEAD Office, (970) 943-2469.
