Campus Life

The programs offered through campus life give students the opportunity for direct participation in activities involving their academic, emotional, physical, spiritual, or career-related development. The services provided by the various departments in Student Affairs assist students both in making their way through college and in making the transition to their post-graduate lives.

Programs and services include, but are not limited to, cultural, academic and diversity-related programs and services, educational and career-related programs and services, and recreational and athletic programs. The programs and services offered in each of these categories are accessible through the links available on this page.

Campus Life hosts special events throughout the year. These events include: Homecoming, Family Weekend, Club and Orginization Fairs, Senior Reception, Orientation, All-Campus Barbecues, and Community Clean Up.

The Student Affairs staff is friendly and helpful. Everyone looks forward to supporting and assisting you in your academic work and in becoming involved in co-curricular activities. We do urge you to further enrich the classroom experience by becoming involved in one of the clubs or activities offered through the Student Government Association (SGA), intramural/club sports, Wilderness Pursuits, the Fitness Center, or one of the other activities that are of interest to you.

Welcome to the Western State College Center. The College Center offers a variety of services and programs to encompass the interests of the entire college community: students, faculty, staff, alumni and guests.

As an integral part of the educational program of the College, the College Center provides many learning opportunities outside the classroom. The College Center serves as the College's activities and information center as well as being the central campus meeting place. It fosters an environment that promotes respect for all people and values diversity, leadership development, and the free exchange of ideas.

The College Center is funded by students, administered by students, and exists for students, faculty, staff, and alumni.  Students provide the vision, leadership, commitment, and momentum that keep the College Center a vital, vibrant part of the Western State College campus.

We welcome your involvement, participation and feedback!

I am excited to be working at Western in the beautiful Gunnison Valley! I am originally from Hawaii so the winters here are a bit cold but what a great place for a college education. If you love travelling and exploring my office is the one to visit. I am the study abroad, National Student Exchange, and international student advisor. For more information on any of these opportunities please visit our Exchange Programs website. I also coordinate the student ID, the Mountaineer Card, on campus. I look forward to meeting you!
