academictroubleUnderstanding Academic Probation

Academic Probation Status and Academic Dismissal
Students are placed on academic probation status as a warning that their academic progress is not satisfactory and that they should take steps to improve their academic performance to avoid dismissal from the College. Students who are placed on academic probation should immediately seek assistance in academic improvement from such sources as academic advisers, instructors, the Student Services Center, the Learning Assistance Center , or through participation in the Turning Points Program. Information regarding academic policies can be found in the College’s Academic Policies Handbook or Catalog.  Additionally, you can download a handout Academic Probation.

If you are placed on Academic Probation, we strongly suggest participating in the Turning Points Program. This program is specifically designed to assist students on academic probation. The program pairs students with staff mentors that will help the student develop an educational plan for academic success, goals, and identify areas of improvement for study habits, living style, etc.
