Welcome Letter from the Mears Complex Staff:mears_facade

Dear Mears Complex Residents!

Welcome to the Mears Complex here at Western State College. The staff and I are greatly excited to have you join us for the next academic year. Living in Mears is a unique and enjoyable experience, one which thousands of other individuals in the U.S. have experienced as well. You are joining a legacy of Mears residents that dates back over fifty years.

In Mears, we take building our community seriously. We pride ourselves on having a wide variety of activities and programs to help all residents get to know themselves and others. When the sun is shining and it’s warm outside, count on having BBQs, ultimate frisbee games, soccer matches, and times just to hang out. When the snow is falling, make sure to connect with people from the complex and enjoy the powder of Crested Butte and Monarch or just go outside and build a snow fort. Make sure to also get involved in hall council, hall sponsored community service projects, and to attend all the programs your Resident Advisor creates just for you!

The Mears Complex staff is here to serve you. We spend countless hours preparing for you to arrive so that your time here can be as enjoyable and positive as possible. At the same time, we depend on you to respect your living area by respecting the halls which the residence life and custodial staffs keep clean.

It is our goal to be people that you can turn to and trust in any situation. That is the essence of the Mears community. We are here to live life with you, to learn together, to play together, to grow together, and to challenge each other. You, as a Mears Complex resident, will be part of a community that values openness, respect, and enjoyment of life.

We are very excited for you to arrive and are eagerly looking forward to all the memories we will share together.  See you soon!

Sincerely,

The Mears Complex Residence Life Staff
