Verification of Enrollment/Degree
The Registrar's Office at Western is able to provide the following types of verification:
- Enrollment Status: The Registrar's Office can verify enrollment status and dates of attendance at Western State College of Colorado. This is considered directory information and public, unless the student specifically requests otherwise. Verifications may be used for multiple purposes, including insurance coverage, internship and scholarship applications, visa applications for study abroad programs, etc.
- Graduation: Western can also verify graduation dates, the type of degree awarded and major. Also public information, his type of verification can also be requested by anyone unless specified otherwise by the student.
- Loan Deferments: The Registrar's Office at Western also verifies enrollment status for purposes related to loan deferments. Generally the loan servicing agency provides specific forms that the student must request. The student can send or bring the form to Taylor Hall 201 to request it be filled out and sent to the loan servicing agency.
- GPA: Western State College of Colorado is able to verify a grade point average when a student makes the request. If parents wish to request such information, the student and parents must sign the Authorization for Release of Academic Information form and file it with the Registrar's office. All requests for GPA information must be made in writing with the signature of the student (or parents if a waiver is on file). If the office does not have record of the student's consent to release academic information, the college cannot and will not release such information to parties other than the student.
