I came to Western because of all the opportunities it presents.  I love being outside and there are endless hobbies to pick up here.  Since I have came to Western, I joined the collegiate mountain bike team for three years, I picked up kite skiing, backpacking, rock climbing, and Nordic skiing.  Besides my new hobbies, I fish, hunt, ice skate when the reservoir freezes, swim, and explore all the surrounding public lands.

In the future, I hope to potentially own an outdoor gear shop.  This valley has provided me so many opportunities, such as teaching various age groups about the environment and working jobs that pertain to the outdoor industry, which inspired me to open my very own outdoor shop.

My senior project was to add classes that pertain to students interested in guiding trip, such as hunting/fishing, rafting, backpacking, climbing, etc.  The classes purposed are field based, meaning that you and your classmates will actually go out and see how professional guiding works, as well as having the opportunity to guide trips yourself.  These classes will be taken as a minor.
