Kali Sheldon

Kali graduated from Western in May of 2013

Western's Music Department is full of opportunities.  I participated in symphony band, choir, jazz band, percussion ensemble, pep-band, a variety of chamber ensembles, and private lessons for tuba and voice.  Such diverse performance opportunities improved my musicianship and prepared me for my career in music education.  Western's Music Faculty guided me into multiple leadership roles including State President of the Collegiate National Association for Music Educators.

In addition to my musical endeavors, I served three years as a Resident Advisor for the Department of Residence Life, which I credit in large for my personal growth.

I arrived at Western wanting to become a better tuba player.  I left Western as a well-rounded musician, an effective leader, and a proud graduate with interviews and job offers.

I currently teach elementary music for a high-achieving school district in Centennial, Colorado.  I also perform in a local symphony and teach private music lessons.  Western made my success possible!
