The single greatest and most effective aspects of my education at Western were the relationships formed between faculty and students. The relationships formed with my professors and peers gave me the confidence and skill to continue on to achieving Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Denver. I studied opera at DU and performed in several major operas while studying for my masters. Having studied education at Western, combined with the experience gained while teaching as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at DU, helped me to realize my true passion as teaching. I am currently specializing in teaching general music to K-4 aged students, but have experience teaching middle and high band and choir as well as voice lessons to college students. The relationships formed during my time at Western continue, even seven years later, to challenge me and help me today, not only from professors, but also from peers whom I studied with.
