How did you discover Western?

Because I came from a small town, I wanted to attend a small college. I was interested in Architecture at the time, and Western had a great program that had a lot of focus on environmental efficiencies (such as solar). Once I got here, I found that the industry was not what I expected, but I loved the college and Gunnison and wanted to stay.

What are some of the highlights of your career?

I have enjoyed being part of both Student Affairs and Academic Affairs. Being able to see the value in all areas of a university has been invaluable.

What most excites you about your field?

I like being able to help students, as well as faculty and staff, succeed. I like being a reliable resource.

What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?

I love that we are a small, comfortable valley that cares for each other. The people are always there to help others and be friendly and welcoming.
