Students at Western State Colorado University did not escape political fever this election season.

The name change will take effect on Aug. 1 and be supported by a re-branding effort to include new logos and brand guidelines.
If approved, the institution will officially assume the name of Western State Colorado University on Aug. 1.
Western’s own WordHorde Spoken-Word Performance Troupe will serve as Arkind’s opening act.
Additional panelists include Bill Powell, treasurer of the Gunnison Watershed School District school board, and Brad Baca, Western vice president for finance and administration.
There were 2,357 responses to the survey from Dec. 20, 2011, through Jan. 27, 2012. Surveys were submitted from individuals in 20 countries and 49 states.
“Since leaving Gunnison, we shared a common goal, and that was to find ways to give back for the unique education and experiences we received from graduating at Western,” says Steve Reynolds, 1978 Western graduate. Reynolds is a member of the Western State Foundation Board of Directors, and along with classmate and former Foundation Board member Steve Trippe, came up with the funds to purchase the land and make the donation. Western was recently ranked as one of the Top 10 Colleges for Mountain Bikers by Mountain Bike Action Magazine.
Western State Colorado University will provide high school students with increased access to higher education opportunities through its new Leap Concurrent Enrollment Program.
