The event, which is open to the public in Western’s Taylor Hall Studio Theatre, will include a 25- to 30-minute presentation by Robards, describing what he, as an actor, looks for in a script. What attracts him to a writer’s words? What repels him?
The remainder of the hour-long session will include time for questions, led by hosts J.S. Mayank, director of Western’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Screenwriting concentration, and Jack Lucido, director of Western’s undergraduate Film Studies program.
Robards, the son of Hollywood legends Lauren Bacall and Jason Robards Jr., has a long list of acting and production credits over his 35-year career. Film buffs will remember him from “American Beauty,” “A.I. Artificial Intelligence,” “Awake” and a list of other projects. He’s also had key roles on television’s “West Wing,” “Twisted,” “Treme,” “Gossip Girl” and “Law & Order,” along with many other credits.
