John Wacker is currently the Director of Bands and brass and percussion
instructor at Western State College. Prior to his appointment at Western he served as
the conductor of the Wind Ensemble at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas
and taught trumpet at TWU and privately in Frisco, Texas.

Mr.Wacker is a doctoral candidate in trumpet performance at the University
of North Texas where he studied with Keith Johnson. He also has a Masters degree in
wind conducting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he studied with conductor
and composer Jack Stamp.

Mr. Wacker has also taught at Laramie County Community College in
Cheyenne, Wyoming where he conducted the Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble,
taught music history, and coordinated the instrumental music program. In addition to
his experiences in higher education, Mr.Wacker has an extensive background in public school music, having taught
and adjudicated all levels of band in the public schools of Wyoming for almost ten years.
