Roger Kunze is the Robert R.Williams Memorial Firefighter of the Year for 2007. Roger has been a member of the Gunnison Volunteer Fire Department for thirteen years. He is certified as a Firefighter I and First Responder. He has also been the recipient of the Chief ’s award and been honored as the Most Active Firefighter and Best Trained Firefighter. He stays current on Wildland firefighting as well. He likes all aspects of being a member and takes pride in his response record.
Roger is a native of Gunnison, which is invaluable for knowing access to fires off the paved roads. His family, wife Erina, Rose,Nelson,Madox, and Ani join in recognizing him for this honor.
