Senior Recitals
-
A Senior Recital/Project registration form (for Music Department records only in 2001-2002) must be completed and signed by the faculty supervisor and the Music Department Chair no later than the Add deadline in the term. A tentative recital date, hearing date, and program is required for the form.
-
Only music majors would be allowed to present senior recitals.
-
Tuesday or Thursday evenings could be used for recitals. No Friday evening or weekend recitals would be scheduled unless there were extenuating circumstances approved by the music faculty.
-
Recitals may be presented by 1 student or shared by 2 (possibly 3) students, excluding accompanists and "assisting" students. A maximum of 25 minutes of music per student and a maximum of 50 minutes of music for the entire recital would be allowed. If 3 students share a recital, a maximum of 20 minutes of music per student and a maximum of 60 minutes of music for the entire recital would be allowed.
-
Students must perform on the instrument or voice in their major area and must be registered for lessons in that area. All music must be approved by the student's private teacher since the recital is a representation of WSC's Music Department.
-
Recitals would be subject to a hearing by a minimum of 3 music faculty (one must be student's private teacher) at least four weeks prior to the recital. The student must coordinate with his/her private teacher to schedule a hearing. All participants (includes any assisting) must be present and prepared to perform at the hearing.
-
Students are responsible for finding and paying for an accompanist.
