CLEP – College Level Examination Program
Western State College awards academic credit for examinations offered by the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). Students should consult the Western State College Student Handbook for the College’s CLEP policies. Also, students should consult the College Catalog and meet with an academic advisor for information regarding the applicability of CLEP credit towards specific degree requirements.
To schedule an exam, please stop by or call our office. Exams are administered by appointment on the following days:

To schedule a CLEP exam May, 2008 through August, 2008, please call the Learning Assistance Center at 970-943-7056.
Two forms of photo identification must be presented to the test administrator on the day of the examination.
Cost for Currently Enrolled Students:
The fee for each test is $80.00. Two separate payments are required, one payable to CLEP for $65.00* and one payable to Western State College for $15.00.
Cost for Those Not Currently Enrolled at Western:
The fee for each test is $90.00. Two separate payments are required, one payable to CLEP for $65.00* and one payable to Western State College for $25.00.
* Please note the CLEP fee will increase to $70.00 July, 1, 2008.
CLEP encourages using a credit card (MC, Visa, American Express), but a check made payable to CLEP is acceptable for the CLEP fee.
Western’s fee is payable by cash, credit card (MC, Visa, Discover), or check made payable to Western State College.
