Classified employees
The current classified employee handbook is the Colorado State Employees Handbook and is only available online. New employees are given a hard copy at their orientation.
Faculty & administrative employees
The current Handbook for Professional Personnel is available online. New employees are given a hard copy at orientation and pdates are distributed through campus mail. Western State will continue to use this handbook until such time as appropriate revisions have been adopted & approved by the new Board of Trustees. Please contact Human Resources for copies.
Employee Organization Access Policy
This Employee Organization Access Policy addresses the protocol for employee organization access to Western State College buildings and grounds to provide general information, to solicit members or to meet otherwise with groups of state classified employees.
Drug-free campus policy
All employees and students acknowledge receipt of the college's Drug-Free Schools, Campus and Workplace Policy which sets out our Drug Use and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program. New employees are given a hard copy.
Tobacco policy
The purpose of this policy is to protect non-smokers on the Western State College campus from involuntary exposure to environmental tobacco smoke, in accordance with the Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act § 25-14 C.R.S. Western State College prohibits smoking inside all college buildings and prohibits smoking outside college buildings within a 30-foot radius of the entire perimeter of the building. Further, in the interest of fire safety and campus maintenance, members of the campus community must properly extinguish all smoking materials and use receptacles provided for the disposal of all tobacco related materials. Harrassment policies
All employees acknowledge receipt of the college's Sexual Harrassment Policy and the Harassment and Violence Policy set out in section 3.5 and 3.4 of the Trustees Policy Manual; classified employees are also subject to these policies. New employees are given a hard copy at orientation.
