Open enrollment
Faculty & administrative employees: November 1-30 each year.
Classified employees: last half of April and the first half of May each year.
Mid-year changes: Requested changes must be consistent with, necessary & appropriate because an
eligible event has occurred. Election changes must be requested within 30 days of the
eligible event. Faculty & administrators must complete & submit paperwork; classified employees must enter into BenefitSolver. The HR office will then approve/disapprove if allowed and all documentation has been submitted; please contact Cheelone (x2003) if you have questions or concerns.
Changes allowed under federal regulations must fit within one of these
categories: HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, LWOP, or Status Change. Please refer to your
enrollment materials or contact the Human Resources office to help you determine if an
election change is allowed based on your individual situation.

CHEIBA agenda
The Colorado Higher Education Insurance Benefits Alliance (CHEIBA) directs the benefits made available to faculty and administrators whose annual FTE is greater than .5. Western State College is represented by Kim Gailey, the HR Director, and Rod Russell, Controller, is the alternate. - June 2008 special meeting agenda: In accordance with Article 3.5, as amended, of the restated CHEIBA Trust, I am calling a special meeting of the Trust to begin 9:00 am, Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 1500 Illinois Street, Room 110, Golden, Colorado. Dixon Waxter, Assistant Attorney General assigned to represent the CHEIBA Trust in general business matters, will provide the call-in information and disseminate it to the Trustees and our benefits broker/consultant via separate email. Note: we are the "PPO" plan for health; Dental Classic plan is called Anthem PPO Blue; and Dental Preferred plan is called Anthem PPO Blue Plus
