Clubs & Organizations

Get involved and make an impact. Run for student government president. Join the sustainability coalition. Volunteer at an elementary school. Or, find your voice within any of our activities supported by the council for creative expression.

From professional clubs to service organizations to performing groups, our students have a vast array of choices for their out-of-the-classroom activities. Western offers more than 50 clubs and organizations to meet the diverse interests and talents of our students.

Academic/Professional/Honor Societies

Gain professional development, learn about your major, present your research and network with professionals in your field as part of an academic or professional club.

Club Sports

From hockey to rugby, Western's Club Sports offer student-athletes the opportunity to compete at the intercollegiate level in a wide variety of disciplines.

Student Government/Campus Planning

Whether you're creating new policies with the Student Government Association or planning events with the Program Council, you'll develop your leadership skills and make an impact on campus.

Connect with others who share your heritage or expand your horizons. Western’s Multicultural Center celebrates the similarities and differences among all of us and promotes cultural awareness throughout the campus and the Gunnison Valley. Celebrate at one of the many events the Multicultural Center sponsors offering community, entertainment and ethnic cuisine.

Council for Creative Expression

Whatever your interest, there’s a creative organization for you. Express yourself at a poetry slam, on stage, at an art show or on air at Western’s radio station, KWSB. Western students express themselves through numerous ensembles, via the campus newspaper and through film productions.

Special Interest

If you have a passion in a certain area — from religion to climbing or from cheerleading to wildlife there’s a perfect fit for you. Special interest groups on campus provide opportunities to support and promote a specific cause or activity, including the environment, health, hobbies and service.
