Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) & Central Plains (CP) Tuition Programs

Freshmen and transfer students (24 semester credits or more) with a permanent address from 23 states in the western and mid-western United States are automatically considered for reduced tuition rates upon completion of the admissions process.

There isn't a separate application process to be considered for Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) or Central Plains (CP) status. All students are reviewed with a completed application file.

NOTE:  Students who qualify for a merit scholarship cannot receive WUE or CP.

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

WUE tuition is a substantial savings relative to normal, out-of-state tuition. Students eligible for the WUE program will be charged 150% of Western’s total in-state tuition.  For 2015-2016 total in-state tuition is $8,094.  WUE tuition is $12,141.   The WUE discount is valued at $4,707.

Incoming freshmen and transfer students who are residents of the following states who do not qualify for a merit scholarship are eligible for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) tuition program:

Central Plains (CP)

The CP tuition is a substantial savings relative to normal, out-of-state tuition. Students eligible for the CP program will be charged 150% of Western’s total in-state tuition. Renewal Requirements for WUE and CP

To continue receiving the WUE or CP Tuition Program, students must:

  • Enroll and complete a minimum of 24 credit hours each year.
  • Maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA
  • Meet satisfactory academic requirements.
  • A maximum of 8 semesters of eligibility will be awarded to freshman students and 6 semesters of eligibility will be awarded to transfer students.
