STUDENT EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS
(Monies earned by actually working)
All students desiring to work at Western are encouraged tocomplete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
Federal, state, and institutional funds are invested in an employment program through which students may work as many as 20 hours per week. Wages vary according to the job, however most jobs start at the minimum-wage rate. Working hours are arranged around your classes. It may be possible for you to work on campus even if you are not eligible for other financial aid.IMPORTANT NOTES ON WORK STUDY:
-
If a student is awarded work study on an "award letter", this does not guarantee the student has a job or that they will actually earn the amount listed.
-
Students are required to set-up interview, and be hired for jobs on campus as they would for any work opportunity. Many available jobs will be listed at the Student Services Center located at College Union 102.
-
Students have to actually work the hours to earn the award. Student payday is the 25th of every month.
