The Scholarship Application Process

All applications may be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid. ALL APPLICATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN APRIL 1 OF EACH YEAR unless otherwise noted

The "Common Scholarship Application" Process

Many scholarships can be applied for by using what is known as "The Common Scholarship Application"   This application combines many scholarships into one application.  These scholarships are identified in the Scholarship Description section.  This application is available from the financial aid office Taylor Hall 207 or call (970) 943-3085 to have one mailed.

The Nomination Process

Some scholarships are awarded through a nomination process by Western faculty or athletic coaches.  We encourage you to contact any and all individuals to solicit nominations for scholarships for which you feel you deserve consideration.  If you feel uncomfortable approaching these individuals, the Director of Financial Aid will gladly make the contact for you.

Other Applications

Some scholarships require a separate application or a specific letter to a certain individual or committee. Again, these scholarships are identified under the "description and criteria" section.
