REPAYMENT OF FINANCIAL AID/ WITHDRAWING FROM WESTERN

Students who withdraw from Western, officially, or simply stop attending classes, and have Federal Financial Aid are:

  • Subject to repaying all or part of any financial aid depending on their length of actual attendance. (If you never attend classes, you will have to repay all aid received!!!!)

  • NOT LIKELY to get any refund at all. This includes their housing deposit.  In almost all cases, refunds will go to the Federal Government.

The following refund policy is in place at Western State College of Colorado:

TUITION AND FEES

When a student officially withdraws from Western, tuition and fees are refunded according to the following schedule:

Refund Percentage:
  • 100% - Through the end of the official Drop Period.

  • 50% - For the period between 15 and 25% of the term.

  • 25% - For the period between 25 and 50% of the term.

  • 0% - For the period after 50% of the term.

Please refer to the Class Schedule for dates of the official Drop Period

The college publishes examples of possible refund scenarios annually.
