Research Statement:
My interests include the design and synthesis of conformationally-locked glutamate analogs as probes to help understand and differentiate between neurotransmitter proteins within the glutamate system. In particular we aim to better define the criteria needed for selective interactions with excitatory amino acid transporters (EAATs) and the vesicular glutamate transporter (VGLUT).
