Available College Courses for Enrollment by Special Students.

ACCESS is a program through Western State College Extended Studies in conjunction with academic departments. It enables non-degree students to enroll in Western's courses on a space available basis. Some ACCESS students take courses for personal or professional development while others plan on enrolling in a degree program at Western in the future.
So, come take that Western State course you’ve been thinking about. Learn from some of the best professors in the country. Whatever your goals may be, let us help you "access" Western State College.
COURSE AVAILABILITY:
Courses that have not reached maximum enrollment following regular student registration and are not restricted are available to you during ACCESS registration.
COST:
Tuition rate is $120 per credit hour. No additional fees will be assessed.
ELIGIBILITY:

Access is not available if you are enrolled as a degree-seeking student or have applied or been admitted to Western.

You must have completed the prerequisites for classes as noted in the catalog.

Students with outstanding financial obligations to the college, students denied admission to Western and students dismissed/suspended for academic reasons are not eligible.

Students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or above to remain eligible for ACCESS.

Limited to registration in 6 credits per academic semester.

ACCESS students are ineligible for financial aid and campus housing.

Classes taken through ACCESS registration establish a Western State College record and appear on a Western transcript. Up to 12 credits earned may apply towards a degree at Western State.

Registration for ACCESS is handled by Extended Studies and occurs just prior to the beginning of classes.

Registration may be done via the telephone or in person beginning Wednesday, August 20.
