For many employers, your resume only has 10 seconds to make an impression.  You need to make it count.  This workshop teaches participants how to market themselves with a well-written resume.  The first session introduces different resume styles (chronological, functional, electronic, etc.) and when each style is more appropriate to use.  Special writing tips and class exercises help participants catch an employer’s attention, and capture their unique qualities, experiences and accomplishments.

Students have time between sessions to draft their own resumes.  During the second session, participants examine qualities of an effective resume, the instructor provides individualized suggestions for improving resume drafts, and participants leave the class with a professional quality resume.  Writing a compelling cover letter is also covered.
