After mastering these basic patterns, students have the basic knowledge of tools and materials needed to tie more advanced flies. This is a hands on-class, and basic tools are needed to participate. Although fly tying materials are provided, students are asked to bring: a vise, fly tying scissors, bobbin and threader, hackle pliers, whip finisher tool, hair stacker, dubbing wax, and head cement.
