This class explores the full primary Ashtanga yoga series as introduced into the West by Sri K. Pattabbi Jois over a quarter of a century ago. Ashtanga is a dynamic style of yoga that consists of a progressive series of 42 (asanas) poses linked together with fluid movements and breath. Ashtanga yoga is perfect for the student wishing to gain more flexibility and strength while following a consistent class format. Students also study the ethical principles and philosophy underlying Ashtanga yoga. Classes include a basic introduction into meditation techniques.
