- hiking at Hartman Rocks
- eating at all of the appetizing local restaurants
- watching the fireworks from Jorgensen Park on the Fourth of July
- going to Cattlemen's Days
- and so much more!
And, of course, when you live on campus, you can expect to be a part of an awesome residential community. Students wishing to stay on campus for the summer are housed in the Pinnacles apartments. This allows students to have the independence of an apartment setting with all of the best aspects of a small community. Our summer Conference Assistants present programs during the summer that focus on gathering our students together and giving them a break from their classes or summer jobs.
So gather round the fire pit in the Pinnacles Quad with ResLife, and set yourself up for an awesome summer!
Summer Housing Policies
There will be two lease options for summer 2017
- Lease Option One: Contract dates May 6, 2017 - August 20,2017. Cost: $2,340.00 for a shared Pinnacles room or $2,455.00 for a single Pinnacles room.
- Lease Option Two: Contract dates May 6,2017 - May 26, 2017 (this option is for students who are only planning to stay on campus for May semester classes). Cost: $415.00 for a shared Pinnacles room or $435 for a single Pinnacles room.
Application will become available online at housing.western.edu in early April.
Students not living on campus for the fall will be required to check out by 5:00pm on August 4, 2017. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you move out by this date, your housing lease will be pro-rated. If you do not move out by this date, you will be assessed an amount equal to 25% of the entire Academic Year contract period and forfeit your housing deposit. If you have signed up to live on campus for the fall and decide to cancel your housing, you will be assessed 25% of the entire Academic Year contract period and forfeit your housing deposit.
Rates are based on a 15 week semester. Students staying for just one session, moving off campus, or taking a modular course during the summer will be charged on a pro-rate basis from May 6, 2017.
Continuing students who lived on campus during spring semester do not need to submit a $100 housing deposit. The deposit you have on file will secure your summer housing assignment. The office of Residence Life will notify you when you can move into your summer apartment if it is different than your current assignment. Please be prepared to complete your move from your spring assignment to your summer assignment within 48 hours of notification.
A written cancelation received before May 6, 2017 will release students from their summer housing obligation, but they will forfeit the $100 housing deposit. Students who cancel their summer housing contract after May 6, 2017 will be assessed the entire 2017 summer rate.
Returning Students not registered for summer classes at Western may live on campus for the summer, provided they are registered as a full time student for the fall 2017 semester, based on availability.
