Gunnison Sockeyes

Purpose/About the Club

The purpose of the Gunnison Sockeyes is to promote conservation of the riparian areas around Colorado (with emphasis on the town of Gunnison) through fly fishing. The Gunnison Sockeyes will aim to build awareness and increase involvement in river conservation and fly fishing by making an active presence throughout the students, faculty and Gunnison Community

The club is included in Trout Unlimited 5 Rivers College outreach program, and the club is affiliated with the Gunnison Angling Society chapter of Trout Unlimited so that the two organizations work jointly together on many conservation projects and fishing excursions. Trout Unlimited mission is to protect, reconnect, restore and sustain North America's cold water fisheries and their watersheds
