The SWEET Life

The SWEET Life

The SWEET life is a student oriented initiative run through the LEAD/Prevention Education Office at Western which focuses on providing holistic prevention education to the student body.  We here at Western understand that wellness is a dynamic and complex concept especially during the college transition and throughout their colege career, we want to keep Western students well!

The purpose of The SWEET Life is to engage students as Peer Educators and utilize their shared experiences to educate, empathize with, and support each other.  The SWEET Life student coordinators spend their time organizing alternative programming and health and wellness education/engagement opportunities, organizing and implementing prevention education and health and wellness campaigns, writing articles for the Top o' the World, and gaining experience as Certified Peer Educators. Last year our initiatives included:

Wellness Wednesdays!
National Suicide Prevention Week
Pay it Forward Week
Sexy Trivia and Speed Dating
Condom Week
Grill and Chill Suicide Awareness Event
STI Awareness Campaign
Party Packs
Flu Packs
Presenting at the BACCHUS Initiatives of NASPA Regional Conference
Breakfast for a Buck

There are many types of membership available within The SWEET Life including paid leadership positions and opportunities to earn academic credit through internships.  For those who want to be involved but don't want to take on too much responsibility, your engagement level is up to you!  We welcome any student with an interest in bettering the health and wellness of Western's campus community. If you have questions regarding The SWEET Life or would like to inquire about becoming a member, please contact Jessica Vogan Assistant Director LEAD/Prevention Education 970.943.2891 or email her by clicking here.
