AAUW ZELDA ROUILLARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

 

Available to:
Non-traditional students(at least 25 years of age). Must be a full-time student, with a minimum of 30 credit hours, currently attending WSC and working on first B.A. degree.
 
Provided by:
Gunnison Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women).
 
Amount:
Four $600.00 scholarships awarded, two each semester.
 
Application:
Complete and submit Western's Common Scholarship Application. Narrative should include biographical information, educational goals and specific financial benefit from receiving the award. Include names and telephone numbers of two Western State College faculty references. Awards for both semesters are made following the April 1st deadline. Non-traditional students enrolled as a business major with a GPA of 3.0

HANSEN, DR. KENNETH H. MEMORIAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP


Available to:
Must be a full-time student with a GPA of 3.0 or greater and a non-traditional student as defined by the WIT Program (either starting or resuming their education). Should be studying in WSC Education Program in order to become a teacher. Must demonstrate appropriate abilities, skills and promise as observed by WSC Education Faculty. Preference shall be given to students with financial need.

Art majors who can demonstrate financial need. Students must be full-time and maintain a 3.0 GPA.  Preference will be given to non-traditional students, single parents, women, minorities, participants in WSC Spectrum and those using technical assistance.

WESTERNERS IN TRANSITION-MARTHA A. CARR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Available to:
Needy students from the Western Slope of Colorado. Must qualify for federal or state aid, or demonstrate a financial hardship and have sophomore standing. Must exemplify the purpose of the Westerners In Transition Program.

Amount:

WESTERNERS IN TRANSITION-ANNE FLICK STEINBECK SCHOLARSHIP

Available to:
Students who exemplify the philosophy of the Westerners In Transition (W.I.T.) program with demonstrated financial need who have obtained at least junior status and a 2.0 GPA. Students should also have demonstrated participation in activities of the college outside the classroom.

WESTERNERS IN TRANSITION-GUNNISON BUSINESS WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP

Available to:
Students in good standing with minimum sophomore standing. Must exemplify the purpose of the Westerners In Transition Program. Financial need will be considered. Preference given to females, as well as students with children.

Donors to the W.I.T. Sponsorship program.
 
Amount:
Award depends on funds available (typically $500-$1000).

WHITING, VERN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP


Available to:
Full-time students majoring in Business, Accounting or Economics. Students must be junior or senior standing and must demonstrate financial need.  Students must have exhibited a work ethic that has assisted in financing their education.  Preference given to non-traditional students.

Amount:
$250.
