Wednesdays at Western: Introduction to Fly Fishing
Join passionate and knowledgeable fly fishermen for a single-day workshop to learn the basics of fly fishing. The first stop of the day is at the Gunnison River Fly Shop where participants get outfitted with the appropriate equipment and then as a group travel to Roaring Judy Fish Hatchery ponds. Instructors discuss many aspects of fly fishing with an emphasis on casting mechanics. Hands-on practice is a part of the day. The program also includes a fly presentation and discussions about what kind of gear to choose, as well as the right kind of fish to chase and the insects to imitate.
