TriBeta 2007 Western District Region I Convention
The Tri-Beta Gamma Chapter at Western State College is hosting the 2007 Western District I Regional Tri-Beta Convention on April 13-14, 2007.
Conference Registration
- One Registration Form is needed per campus along with one Author Data Sheet per presenter (poster or oral presentation).
- You may download Author Data Sheets and Convention Registration Forms and email completed forms to Becky Sears
Conference Location and Lodging
- Conference check in will be held at Hurst Hall on the Western State College campus in Gunnison, Colorado.
Tentative Convention Schedule
Friday, April 13th
- 3:30-5:30PM Registration in Hurst Hall
- 6:00-8:00PM Welcome presentation and dinner at the Aspinall-Wilson Center
- 8:00-9:00PM Speaker: Dr. Sara Oyler-McCance; Director, Rocky Mountain Center for Conservation Genetics and Systematics; USGS Conservation geneticist and Assistant Research Professor, University of Denver.
Saturday, April 14th
- 8:00-8:50AM Breakfast in Hurst Hall
- 9:00AM-12:30PM Presentations in Hurst 230, Hurst 232, Hurst 130
- 12:30-2:00PM Lunch on your own
- 2:00-5:00PM Fieldtrips
- Choice of three possible fieldtrips
- Migrating waterfowl: Birding at local wetlands
- Fly fishing
- Natural History Hike
- Choice of three possible fieldtrips
- 7:00PM Banquet/Awards Presentation at the Aspinall-Wilson Center
- Following the Banquet/Awards Presentation: Speaker: Dr. Tom Walla: Director, Western Colorado Center for Tropical Research and Associate Professor, Department of Biology, Mesa State College.
Sunday, April 15th
- 5:00AM Optional visit to Sage Grouse Lek; meet in Hurst Parking Lot at 5AM
